Kara Palmer

Director, Philanthropy

Kara cares deeply about working collaboratively to reimagine philanthropy and rebalance power with communities. A creative strategist who’s relationship-focused, Kara brings more than 25 years of experience driving change in health, education, conservation, and other justice issues. As philanthropy director at Pyramid, she leads multi-disciplinary teams in building strong organizational brands and delivering high-impact communications across mediums.

Her clients have included the Black Future Co-op Fund, BIPOC ED Coalition, Byrd Barr Place, Group Health Foundation, Northwest Indian College Foundation, Philanthropy Northwest, Marguerite Casey Foundation, Raikes Foundation, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, among others. Previously, Kara was an advocacy officer with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she strategized to elevate global health, development, and learning initiatives. Driven by curiosity, she loves learning new things, gardening, nature photography, and doing puzzles. Kara also cherishes spending time with her family.
